Turning Creative Talent Into Real Income
Kibera is full of creative talent. Photographers who capture the neighbourhood better than any visitor ever could, designers, editors, storytellers and content creators are all here. What most of them lack is not ability but access — to a camera, a laptop, reliable data, and someone willing to teach the professional side of the craft.
Our Creative & Digital Skills Training programme exists to close that gap. We run hands-on, project-based classes in photography, videography, graphic design and digital work, then help every trainee build a portfolio and move towards paid work, internships or freelance clients. A skill only really counts once it turns into income and confidence.

What We Train
Every course is practical from the first session — trainees learn by producing real work for real audiences:
- Photography: composition, lighting, editing and telling a story in a single frame
- Videography: filming, sound, editing and short documentary production
- Graphic design: branding, posters, social media artwork and print-ready files
- Digital skills: content creation, social media management and online freelancing
- The business side: pricing, client communication, portfolios and simple bookkeeping
Our Approach
We keep classes small, equipment shared and briefs real. Trainees work in teams on live projects: covering community events, designing campaign materials for local groups and producing short films about life in Kibera. Working professionals review what they produce, and mentorship continues after graduation, because the first paid job is always the hardest one to get.
